The Guildford Tenancy Strategy: tenancies and affordable rentsFrom April 2012 providers of affordable housing will be able to offer tenancies of different lengths. In addition a new tenure of 'Affordable Rent' has been introduced which will allow rents to be set at up to 80% of the market rate. The Council is currently carrying out research into how these tenancies and rents can best be used to meet housing needs in the borough. This will be outlined in the tenancy strategy due to be published in Spring 2012. Consultation on the tenancy strategy is under way and the feedback gathered from the Guildford Housing Forum event on 4 November 2011 can be found in the downloads section of this page. You will also find our interim position statement on tenancies and affordable rents in the downloads section. |
