Renewable technology loansWhat's new?Changes are pending for Feed-in tariffs and the Renewable Heat Incentive, see related pages on the website as information becomes available. Renewable technology loanWe are currently offering interest-free renewable technology loans of up to £3,000. This is to help homeowners (and landlords) install:
Planning permission is required for some installations, please see the related pages section. The interest-free loan, which is repayable over 5 years, is not means-tested. A list of approved installers is available from the Microgeneration Certification Scheme, please see offsite links section. Read the conditions of the scheme and apply online for the loan. Other sources of fundingThe government have introduced feed in tariffs for renewable microgeneration technologies. This provides a financial incentive for people, communities and businesses to install renewable energy electricity-generating technologies (like solar PV panels and wind turbines). To find out more, please visit our Feed in tariffspage (see related pages section). There is also now a Renewable Heat Incentive (including a grant payment for installation) for technology such as biomass boilers, air and ground source heat pumps and solar thermal panels. We may consider applicants for solar PV under our Home Improvement Policy through the Home Trust Loan, this will be assessed on a case by case basis. |
