Permanent Exhibition DisplaysStep into the world of prehistoric man, the Romans and Saxons, monks and friars, Lewis Carroll and the Victorians:Archaeology The Museum's Archaeology Collection dates back to 1852. Highlights of the collection include sceptre handles and religious headdresses' from the Romano-British temple site at Wanborough, a large collection of Mesolithic handaxes from Farnham and the much of the findings from the excavation from the Tudor site of Farnborough Hill Convent.
Local History Needlework Other Sites - the Museum is also responsible for the management of Guildford Castle, the medieval Undercroft on Guildford High Street, the medieval Great Barn at Wanborough and a Victorian School Room adjacent to the Museum. In June 2009 the Museum and Guildford House Gallery, the local art gallery merged. |
