Casual work

If you have specific technical, Box Office or house management experience and would be interested in doing casual work for us, please drop your CV into the Theatre and we will contact you once an opportunity arises.  Also, if you have bar or restaurant experience and want to work for us in our Cafe Bar, please drop us your CV. Please note that we cannot guarantee casual work.

Work Experience

The work experience we offer at The Electric Theatre is a week-long (Sunday to Sunday) technical theatre placement.  These opportunities are limited so advance enquiries are recommended.

If you're interested in a work experience placement please contact the Technical Manager at electrictheatre@guildford.gov.uk. Please note that we can only respond to written requests for work experience.

If you are interested in the technical aspects of theatre please also look at our annual summer course Electric Works which runs every August. This offers the opportunity to study lighting, sound, stage management and set design with a specially written practical show at the end of the week.

Volunteer

Those of you who have attended our events before will know that the important business of keeping our audiences well looked after is carried out by a loyal and enthusiastic team of volunteer ushers.  We are always happy to welcome new ushers on board. Ushering for us offers you a great opportunity to make new friends, broaden your horizons and see events free of charge. 

The first step to becoming an usher is to join the Friends of The Electric Theatreand fill out the downloadable application form. When applying please tick the box to let us know you'd like to usher and we'll take care of the rest.
