Jenefer Ham

Wave Sculpture in Glass by Jenefer Ham Drowsy Bowls in Kiln Formed Glass by Jenefer Ham

Jenefer Ham produces distinctive, vibrant glass to adorn and enhance windowsills, walls and wardrobes.

All pieces are created by Jenefer at her workshop in Guildford.

Jenefer Ham trained as a commercial artist, then began working for a jeweller before setting up her own business as a graphic designer. She was always interested in artistic, creative pursuits including painting and ceramics, but felt a strong attraction toward glass, gemstones, and other reflective mediums.

Mainly self-taught, her style developed focusing on capturing light within the layers and colours of glass. She creates her work using sheets of coloured glass, layering many shapes and colours in one-off, original designs, then fusing them at 800°C in the kiln before carefully controlled cooling relieves internal stresses, ensuring a durable finished piece. She shapes the piece or adds more layers of glass and most pieces go through several kiln cycles. Because it takes about 24 hours to safely heat then properly cool fused glass, pieces can spend a week in the kiln creating a depth of colour and a unique piece of glass.

All pieces are safe for use with food and easily cleaned with a soft cloth and washing up liquid.
