Weyfest

So what is it that has captured the imagination of festival goers from across the world? Primarily of course, it's the music. All the artists are hand-picked for quality, be they world superstars or up and coming unsigned bands. The quality of the music, from the opening bands to the headliners, has always been appreciated by the delighted punters who go away determined to return next year, with more friends each time. Just as important is the overall feel of the festival. The friendly atmosphere, friendly staff, smiling security! Weyfest is first and foremost a family festival, and each year more is done to cater for children (and young-at-heart adults), with an ever expanding Kids Zone, more kids' events, fascinating workshops, and always plenty of Daleks and Stormtroopers mingling with the audience.

Guildford Union Workhouse Casual Ward - The Spike Tours

A day in the life of a vagrant - the meager rations, oakum picking, stone breaking cells and harsh regime in the casual ward is laid bare in this award winning Heritage Centre. Come and see this faithfully restored "Spike", saved from the demolition of St Luke's Hospital and part of the community's living history project, tracing life in the original workhouse of 1838, to the early 1990's acute hospital of St Luke's. If you ever worked or were treated at St Luke's, the project co-ordinators would love to hear your stories. Information gathering is ongoing.
