Rural Industries

The rural sector group includes farmers, landowners, land agents and representatives from the local agricultural college, not for profit organisations and charities. The group represents the 50% of the borough which has a rural or agricultural background.

Key issues for the group are:

• Rural housing initiatives.
• Supporting and promoting local produce.
• Supporting access to the countryside.
• Development and use of biomass fuels.
• Securing funding for rural initiatives.
