Guildford Borough Council Heritage Service aims to welcome deaf and disabled visitors to heritage sites in its care and to ensure best possible access to the collection and services. Where this is not possible due to constraints of the heritage environment, a reasonable alternative will be offered. Please do contact us in advance so we can assist you as much as possible in preparation for your visit or provide an alternative option. The following are available at our sites:

Tandridge Lions Talking Newspaper and Guildford Talking Newspaper have assisted Guildford Heritage Service in recording an audio guide for the current exhibition George Abbot - A Guildford Man. This handheld guide is available for blind and partially sighted visitors to the exhibition at Guildford Museum. The audio guide reveals the history of George Abbot and his association with Guildford. It also describes some of the associated objects on display, supported by tactile diagrams. A member of museum staff can provide sighted guiding if this is arranged in advance. Please contact us using the details at the bottom of this page. The exhibition runs until Saturday 17 September 2011. See for more information.
