Why work for Guildford Borough CouncilWhy work in Guildford?Guildford is a university town with a wealth of history and has changed considerably in the last twenty years. From a classic commuter town has sprung a lively and dynamic community with its own vibrant economy, arts scene, tourist attractions and cosmopolitan population. The town's geographical location provides excellent transport links in all directions - situated at the edge of the A3, just a five minute drive to Junction 10 of the M25 and under a half hour train journey to Waterloo. In addition, the main bus station is positioned within the town centre and Park and Ride facilities are available in several locations around the town to service different travel approaches. Why work for Guildford Borough Council?Guildford Borough Council is a hugely diverse organisation. We deliver a wide range of services and employ people with an even broader range of skills. We firmly believe this helps us to generate the ideas and ingenuity needed to address the often complex issues our communities face. The job of the council is to support the infrastructure and services provided for the local community. Guildford is a regional centre for leisure, business, education, shopping and culture. Our Mission Statement puts it neatly: "A forward looking, efficiently run council underpinning the vision by providing first-class services that give the community value for money." The Council's main offices at Millmead are well served by bus routes and are a short walk from the train station. Immediately in front of the offices is the river and park area, with benches and picnic tables. Only a short walk away is the High Street with a wide range of shops. Search our Job Vacancies |
