Traveller Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment (SHLAA)
The forthcoming Land Availability Assessment (LAA) will be published shortly. It will replace the current Traveller SHLAA.
In May 2014, we published our first Traveller SHLAA. In that document, we acknowledged that there remained further work to do and that we would update the document accordingly. This version (June 2014) of the Traveller SHLAA [7Mb] is the most up to date available evidence base regarding future provision of Traveller accommodation, and supersedes the version of the Traveller SHLAA published in May 2014.
As part of the continuing update of evidence base informing our new Local Plan, and the need to ensure that site allocations are deliverable, we commissioned further work to our Green Belt and Countryside Study (GBCS) to consider whether Traveller sites can be appropriately inset from the Green Belt. The findings of this further work (GBCS volume six), and further work regarding provision of Travelling Showpeople accommodation, have informed this update of the Traveller SHLAA. The GBCS can be viewed on the Green Belt and Countryside Study page.
