Translation and interpretation service informationFind out about our translation and interpretation service.We believe all members of the community have an equal right to access the information and services provided by the Council. We provide a translation and interpretation service so that people who do not use English as their first language or who have a disability can access our services. We use the following translation and interpretation services:
Arranging for an interpreter to helpIf you visit a council office or have an appointment to see a council officer, you can request an interpreter. You will not have to pay for the interpreter. All interpreters are trained and follow a code of practice that includes the need for confidentiality. How can I ask for a text translation?Please contact us using the details below and we will send you the format you have requested as soon as we can. Help for the deaf and hearing impairedSign language support of the deaf and hearing impaired is available from the Surrey Interpreting Agency (SIA), part of the Deaf Services team. As well as sign language support, the SIA provide Guildford Borough Council with note takers, lip readers / speakers and other facilities. Please contact us using the details below if you are deaf or hearing impaired and need help accessing our services. Please be aware that we need notice that you or someone you represent will require sign language support. |
