About

Visitors call the Mill a 'living' place - a place where the graffitied, lime-washed walls and the ancient hessian sacks mingle with the smell of the timbers and tallow. A lucky survivor, it tells the story of the decline of traditional village work and life.

There's the romantic story of how it survived and of the eccentric Ferguson Gang's attempt to stop the urbanisation of rural England and how they used the Mill as a base to plan the future missions whilst sitting around the milestones at dawn. These stories are brought to life through the guides who show you around. They also make the regular children's and adults' activities interesting and fun.
