From Tuesday 30 November, face coverings are compulsory in certain indoor settings. Face coverings must be worn by staff and customers in shops, close contact services (hairdressers, tattoo and piercing studios, nail bars), takeaways and on public transport (including taxis). This is part of the measures introduced by the Government. It is to help stop the spread of the new COVID-19 Omicron variant in the UK.
