We have a schedule for street cleaning and we follow standards set out by the Environmental Protection Act 1990 and Code of Practice for litter and refuse.

We do the following:

  • clean Guildford Town Centre throughout the day.
  • carry out a daily clean of rural shopping parades and some areas around the town centre.
  • litter patrols check and clean other residential areas and rural roads fortnightly.
  • We have a different schedule for cleaning the trunk roads (A3, A31 and A331) in Guildford. Find out more on our trunk road page.

Reporting road kill

We will collect dead animals which have been hit by a vehicle and are on public highways.

Please email customerservices@guildford.gov.uk giving clear details of:

  • the location of the dead animal
  • description of the size and type

We can remove animals such as:

  • badger
  • fox
  • cat
  • dog
  • deer
  • horse

If the dead animal is on one of the high speed roads in our borough, such as the A3, A31, the A331, then we will remove it at the next available trunk road cleaning date or you can contact Surrey County Council for help. See our trunk road page for more information.
