LABC South East Building Excellence Awards 2019

These awards are held every year and we put forward schemes that demonstrate excellent working relationships with our clients and quality work.

Our building control team were represented at the prestigious annual LABC South East Building Excellence Awards 2019, which took place at The Grand, Brighton, where we celebrated success with our clients.

Over 300 guests were welcomed to the ceremony, including architects, agents, contractors, designers and representatives from local authority building control who gathered to celebrate excellent construction building projects and individuals in the South East. These awards showcase buildings and design teams that have faced complex technical or construction issues and building site constraints. The awards also celebrate the success of innovative, smart solutions.

We were delighted to discover that one of our projects, Greyfriars Vineyard Chalk Wine Cellar, was a winner in the best small commercial category. Adam Petipher, Building Control Surveyor who worked closely with project team attended the event and joined them on stage to accept the award.

The project team for the Chalk Wine Cellar included: SLK Construction, Modulus Structural Engineering Ltd, Greyfriars Vineyard, DBG Consulting, Cottington and Sons Builders, Wayne D'Mellow.
 

There were also three other projects/individuals that were finalists at the awards, where the Council's Building Control Team were involved, which is a fantastic achievement. Well done to everyone!

Apple Tree Cottage, Effingham in the Best Individual new home category. Project Team: Beaufoy Homes Ltd and AAP Architecture. 

 

Frontelle winner LABC awards2019
Wherwell Road, Guildford - Best extension or alteration to an existing home. Project Team: GWC (Surrey), Weyside Architects.

SPBM Construction Ltd in the best local builder or traditional craftsperson category.

The winners of each category were invited to the Grand Finals, which took place on Friday 8 November 2019 at the Park Plaza, Westminster Bridge, London.
