Local bylaws

We have powers under certain acts of parliament to make bylaws, which are local laws that create criminal offences. Before they come into effect, bylaws must be confirmed by a secretary of state.

Please note that the penalties for offences under the bylaws may have changed. Please contact Legal Services if you are unsure as to the current penalty.
