Albury Neighbourhood Plan - Confirmation of Designation
The Albury Neighbourhood Area has been designated following an application from Albury Parish Council and after a public consultation which took place between 23 January and 19 February 2017.
Designating this as a neighbourhood area enables Albury Parish Council to work in partnership with the local community to produce a Neighbourhood Plan and a Neighbourhood Development Order. Neighbourhood Plans and Development Orders can help bring forward developments needed by the community, and enable the community to have a greater say in what development looks like and where it goes.
The Localism Act 2011 introduced new rights to help communities shape development in their local areas. Neighbourhood plans and orders can set planning policies and grant up-front permission for developments that the community wants to see go ahead. They must take account of national policy and help meet the strategic needs of the wider local area.
More information about neighbourhood planning is available on our website on our Neighbourhood planning information pages.
