18 November to 3 February.

Put together by the Joining In! Men's Group, and Guildford Museum team, this exhibition looks at some of the many companies that thrived in Guildford in the second half of the 20th century. Exhibits include items from companies such as Dennis Brothers, Nelco and Plastic Coatings.

The Joining In! Men's Group is a friendly social group for older men, focusing on local history, nostalgia and memories.

The Guildford at Work exhibition aims to be the first in an ongoing programme of temporary exhibitions, organised by different community groups in our borough. Funded by Arts Council England, it is part of our Your Stories, Your Museum project, which is involving visitors and Guildford residents in the work of, and future of, Guildford Museum.

If you belong to a community group in our borough that has an interesting story or theme for a temporary display, which your group would like to work on, please let us know! Contact Melanie Holliker, the Heritage Services' access officer, on 01483 444751 for details.

Free entry.

Gathering memories of Guildford at Work

The Guildford at Work exhibition captures the little known but influential history of Guildford industries and local people's personal recollections of working in them.

Take a look at our short video to find out more about this curated-by-the-community project.
