Community Governance Review of East and West Clandon
Both Clandon Parish Councils want to increase the number of elected parish councillors. East Clandon Parish Council from five to six and West Clandon Parish Council from six to eight. We're consulting the public about this in a Community Governance Review which launches on Monday 3 September.
As part of the review, we are also required by law to make recommendations on other electoral arrangements for both parish councils. This includes the year in which ordinary parish council elections are held, dividing the parished areas into parish wards and the number of parish councillors to be elected for any such ward.
We're proposing no change is made to the year of ordinary elections, as they currently coincide with borough council elections and elections to other parish councils in the borough. We're also proposing that no parish warding should be introduced in either parish. Both Parish Councils support this proposal.
We would like to know what people living or working in East and West Clandon think of these proposals.
From 3 September to have your say go to Community Governance Review of East Clandon Parish and Community Governance Review of West Clandon Parish, email us at email@example.com or write to John Armstrong, Democratic Services Manager, Guildford Borough Council, Millmead House, Millmead, Guildford GU2 4BB.
Please state your name and address clearly. Your reply must reach us no later than 5pm on Friday 26 October 2018. Any submissions received after this date, or any representations submitted anonymously, will not be taken into account.
If approved, the change will come into effect on the date of the next scheduled parish council elections on 2 May 2019.
