Guildford celebrates local residents awarded with national honours
Local residents and voluntary organisations who received national honours in the past 12 months were celebrated at a special reception organised by the Council.
The Mayor of Guildford, Councillor Mike Parsons, thanked members of the local community at the reception on Thursday (21 March), for their contribution to the borough and national life.
National honours recognise and acknowledge the significant contribution and achievements of people, and the extraordinary efforts that they go to for their communities, organisations or teams.
Among the honoured were individuals and representatives from voluntary organisations who have received MBEs, the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service (QAVS) and CBEs for their services to the community.
