Security mark from Surrey Police for new council homes at The Orchard

Gavin Stephens, Chief Constable of Surrey Police, has presented Guildford Borough Council with a prestigious 'Secured by Design' Gold Award for our new social housing development, 'The Orchard'.

Homes security scheme
Secured by Design is a police initiative that improves the security of buildings and their immediate surroundings through the design process, with the aim of providing safe places to live, work, shop and visit. We specify that all our new developments must achieve Secured by Design standards, but this is the first time we have achieved a gold award.

The Orchard is a small development of 18 flats on the site of the former Apple Tree pub in Park Barn in Guildford, which recently welcomed its first tenants.
