The last year of World War II, 1945, saw some of the most vicious fighting of the war as Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan fought desperately to avoid defeat.

Battalions from the Surrey Regiments were in the thick of the action in north-west Europe, Italy and the Far East.

This free display by the Surrey Infantry Museum focuses on a number of key engagements up to the cessation of hostilities on 15 August 1945.

Address: Guildford Museum, Castle Arch, Quarry Street, Guildford GU1 3SX.
