Council housing repairs
Council housing - services for tenants - Following government guidance as of 5 November, and our own commitment to the safety of our residents and staff, we will only attend emergency and high priority urgent works inside your home.
Appointments will only be made for urgent high priority work. You may be asked to call us back after 2 December to report any work within your property of a non-urgent nature. We will continue to provide a full repairs service where works are external or in communal areas and where we don't need to access your home.

When we visit, we will ask you if:
- you or anyone in the house feels unwell with a fever, cough or flu like symptoms
- you or anyone in the house has been in contact with a person with a confirmed case of Coronavirus, or are self-isolating. If this is the case, then we will not be able to attend to work inside your property unless it is an emergency.
The Handy person scheme is operating a limited service for urgent and essential works. Hospital discharges will take priority.
Occupational Therapist visits
Our Occupational Therapists are only carrying out essential home visits. If we have a referral for you, we will contact you to assess your situation by phone or video call. If you have already been assessed, our contractors are continuing to work using all the necessary Covid precautions. If you prefer to delay works to your home, please let us know by contacting customer services on 01483 505050.

We are carrying out Covid-secure site visits, processing and plan checking building regulations applications, overseeing dangerous structures, processing demolitions notices and competent person scheme records, providing fee quotations and answering general enquiries.

Car parks and parking
Guildford "Glide" park and ride services at Artington, Spectrum and Merrow are open. Onslow is closed.
Car parks - Parking charges and enforcement are in place for on-street parking and car parks.
Guildford resident and visitor parking - On-street parking charges and enforcement apply. Permits can only be obtained online or through telephoning Customer Services. Millmead House is closed to all visitors.
Waverley residents' parking permit scheme - Cranleigh, Farnham, Godalming and Haslemere - On-street parking enforcement applies. We are beginning to process new permits and renewals. If your permit has expired, or is due to expire, we will be in touch to explain the next steps.

Pest control - this service is operational but with some limits and precautions in place.

House in Multiple Occupation (HMO) Licence
If you have an existing HMO licence that requires work to be completed to the property during the Coronavirus outbreak, please contact 01483 505050 or email email@example.com and ask to be referred to the Housing Standards Team to discuss your situation.
Please send any enquiries to firstname.lastname@example.org. It might take us longer than normal to reply. We currently have limited ability to return phone calls.
There may be delays with listed building consent applications during the Coronavirus outbreak. These require detailed site inspections which we are not always able to conduct at present.
Local land charges
Local Land Charges - We are unable to accept Official certified searches through the post or DX, please email your completed search request forms to email@example.com and pay via our online payment system.
Personal Search procedures have been amended while you are unable to visit our offices, if you wish to carry out a personal search on a property please email the address of the property and a plan to firstname.lastname@example.org. The Local Land Charges register for the property will then be emailed to you. Please allow three working days for us to respond.
Planning enforcement remains a critical function of the council during the Coronavirus period. Please consider whether potential breaches are serious. Before reporting a breach, please check the Planning Portal's Common projects web page which details common householder projects that do not need permission from the Council. The web page also contains guidance on a number of other issues such as advertisements and non-domestic projects
The Government has advised that councils should not enforce breaches of delivery hours where related to movement of key goods - for instance food deliveries. It has also introduced temporary permitted development right for the change of use of pubs/restaurants to provide takeaway services.

Chantry Wood Campsite is closed.
Community litter picking - We are not enabling any community litter picking at the present time.
Heritage Services - Our buildings (Guildford Museum, The Victorian Schoolroom, The Guildhall, Guildford Castle, Guildford House Gallery, Wanborough Barn and The Undercroft) have closed in line with government guidance. With the exception of venues that have a seasonal opening programme, we aim to open our Heritage attractions as close to Wednesday 2 December as long as we can ensure the venues remain Covid secure. The Playrangers' after-school sessions are not currently running.
Sports pitch bookings Sports pitches, Astro-turf and tennis courts, trim trails or outdoor gym equipment and multi-use games areas are closed in line with Government guidance.
Stoke Park - Stoke Park paddling pool, fitness trail and skate park are closed. Stoke Park Gardens and model boating pond are open.
Hire of public parks and open spaces - All public events have been cancelled until January 2021. Group Fitness Session licence applications are temporarily closed. One-to-one Fitness Session licence applications are open.

Farmers' Market - Our next Farmer's Market on Tuesday 1 December has been cancelled. We hope to welcome all of our suppliers back as soon as possible. In the meantime, many local businesses are now offering delivery services so please support these businesses where you can.
