North Street market

North Street market takes place every Friday and Saturday. It runs from 8.30am to 5pm.

The market has more than 20 stalls. They offer a variety of goods including fruit, vegetables, flowers, fresh meat and fish. You can buy ground coffee, cheese, bread and hot takeaway food. Jewellery and clothes are on sale too.

The market is very close to Leapale Road and Castle multi-storey car parks. It is a short walk from Guildford train station.


Farmers' market

Guildford Farmers' market runs in the High Street, Guildford, on the first Tuesday of the month, from 10.30am to 3.30pm.

Market dates in 2021 are:

  • Tuesday 7th September
  • Tuesday 5th October
  • Tuesday 2nd November
  • Tuesday 7th December
  • Tuesday 21st December (to be confirmed)

We have over 50 producers offering a variety of fresh local produce at each market. 

Vegetables at Farmers' Market

We are a National Farmers' Retail and Markets Association (FARMA) accredited market. We follow quite strict guidelines on the products that can be sold. We favour locally sourced and produced ingredients. We aim to offer our customers choice. You can buy a variety of delicious high quality produce.

The market producers are listed below. Not all attend every month. Stalls vary at each market as some produce is seasonal.

As well as the regular North Street market and the monthly farmers' market, there are a number of specialist markets in the town centre for shoppers to enjoy.

Antiques and brocante market

The antiques and brocante market runs in the High Street from 9.30am to 3.30pm on the following dates: 

  • Sunday 12th September
  • Sunday 12th December

Arts and makers market 

The arts and makers market is on Sunday 7th November in the High Street. It runs from 10am to 4pm.

Ethical vegan market

The ethical vegan market takes place in the Portsmouth Road car park from 10.30am to 3.30pm on the following dates: 

  • Sunday 19th September
  • Sunday 21st November

We run:

  • a monthly farmers' market. It runs on the first Tuesday of the month in High Street, Guildford from 10.30am to 3.30pm
  • North Street market. It runs every Friday and Saturday from 9am to 4.30pm in North Street, Guildford
  • specialist markets 

Farmers' market rules 

  • the producer must be based in our catchment area of within a 50-mile radius of Guildford. Sometimes we will take a producer outside the catchment. This is only if it's a product that can't be sourced within the radius
  • priority is given to primary producers including farmers, fishermen, growers, cheese-makers and brewers
  • bakers, jam makers, and some craft makers must use a certain amount of ingredients from the local area
  • all products sold must be reared, grown, caught, brewed, pickled, baked, smoked or processed by the stall holder

North Street market 

The market is popular and turnover of traders is small. 

The rental charge for a pitch is £15 per metre frontage per day. This includes rubbish clearance, electricity and water supply. It does not include a canopy or stall, so you need to bring your own. Traders must provide proof of their right to work in the UK
