Venue announced for the Guildford Design Awards
The winners of the Guildford Design Awards will be announced at a ceremony at the Guildford Baptist Centre, Millmead on Wednesday 1 December 2021 at 7pm.
The Mayor of Guildford, Councillor Marsha Moseley will present the awards, which celebrate and promote exciting and innovative building design, as well as encouraging high quality development in the future.
This year the awards, run by us and The Guildford Society, saw entries from public buildings, individual houses, and a commercial building, to conservation projects, and public art. The awards ceremony is usually held in one of the winning buildings and this year is no exception, come along on the night to find out who else has made it from the shortlist. You can register here to attend this free event. Drinks will be available from 6.30pm.
Leader of the Council, Cllr Joss Bigmore said: "Congratulations to each of the entries, which all offer something unique and innovative. We love to see local projects that push for higher quality, sustainable design and contribute to a thriving Guildford and surrounding villages."
Peter Coleman, Chair of the judging panel, said: "The Guildford Design Awards judging panel completed the last of its site visits this week after a very busy few weeks. The entries this year have covered a wide range of categories, including several public art entries and a borehole at the University of Surrey.
"Thank you to everyone who has submitted entries, and those who facilitated our judging panel viewing properties."
