Grants for businesses in the overseas travel supply chain

Covid Grants

Businesses in Guildford that are in the overseas travel supply chain for customers going overseas can apply for a lump sum grant of up to £27,900 to help them recover from the economic challenges of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

The Overseas Travel Supply Chain Grants is part of the Additional Restrictions Grant scheme. It has been created to support businesses in Guildford in sectors such as travel, holiday and airline, where customers are travelling overseas. These sectors are among the hardest hit, even with the relaxation of restrictions.

Councillor Tim Anderson, Lead Cllr for Resources, said: "We know that businesses in the overseas travel supply chain have been harder hit because of the nature of their businesses. And while restrictions eased and allowed many of us to go back to business as usual these businesses could not as their customers could not travel overseas. We are here to support all our local businesses and give as much help as we can. By helping them we know we are also helping the wider community.

"We have already distributed more than £23 million in government grants and provided business rate relief to businesses in the retail, hospitality and leisure sectors. These funds have provided a lifeline to them and, as a result, residents and visitors have benefitted from the goods and services they have provided. Please do check if your business is eligible for this scheme and get in touch."

Like the Covid Business Development Grant we announced last week, this is part of the Additional Restrictions Grants Scheme and businesses must have received a previous covid business grant to be eligible.

Applications must be received by 5pm on 30 November.

Guildford is home to many organisations that could help your business. Our business support partners are ready to offer help to your company. You can get business advice from Enterprise M3 Growth Hub, collaborate with the University of Surrey or recruit a placement student, join business networks like Business South to meet like-minded people and share knowledge. Or you can explore national help available such as the government's Kickstart Scheme. We share these and more on our website under the business in the main menu.

Full details are available on our Covid Business Development Grant Scheme web page - businesses should check their eligibility before applying.
