Christmas and New Year Bin Collection Changes

Bin collection

Bin collection days will change over the Christmas and New Year period, but a full service of rubbish and recycling collections will continue over the festive season. This is for both household and commercial waste collections.

Although there will be no garden waste collections between the 28 December and the 8 January, crews will still be out collecting your rubbish and recycling. You can do your bit for the environment over Christmas too, Surrey Waste Partnership have put together some top tips on how to be more environmentally friendly. You will be able to recycle your Christmas tree at one of our temporary locations found across the borough. Last year we recycled over 5,800.

Our waste collection teams have worked hard to maintain normal services, especially over the last 18 months. Since the start of the pandemic, they have collected 10% more waste than pre-pandemic levels.

The table below shows the changes to collection days over Christmas and New Year.

You can find the changes to commercial waste collections on our website.
