What's in our art collection?

At Guildford Heritage Services we have over 500 works of art, spanning over 250 years. The collection includes oil paintings, watercolours, pastels and prints as well as three-dimensional items, such as pottery and sculptures. The art works include various views of Guildford and the surrounding area.

We have a nationally important collection of work by John Russell (1745 - 1806) who was a member of the Royal Academy. He was a pastel painter to King George III and his son, who was to become George IV. In recent years, we have also built up our collection of works by contemporary artists.
