Situated in the charming village of Lower Eashing, near Godalming and Guildford, Surrey; The Stag on the River pub and boutique B&B sits alongside the banks of the River Wey, making for a picturesque backdrop in which to indulge in the finest of fresh, local and seasonal food and drink.  This historic pub and inn, dating back to the 15th century, sits conveniently, just seconds, off the A3 motorway (not that you would know!) and serves as the perfect resting point and weekend escape from the big city smoke.

Settle in for a relaxing overnight experience in one of their 7 beautiful hotel rooms, which offer an elegant twist of history and contemporary décor.  This pub’s history dates back to 1771 and is a Grade-II listed building.  The design and refurbishments have remained sympathetic to its past, with oak beam ceilings, sloping floors and notable historic events including its long history of hunting, shooting and fishing, which have been documented for guests alike to read.  The bedrooms have been tastefully refurbished to offer the mod-cons and luxuries you would expect to guarantee a glorious home-away-from-home experience and perfect sleep. Examples include the ESPA toiletries, luxury Egyptian linen, goose feather and down quilts (allergy options available) to the soft, fluffy white bathrobes. We even provide a complimentary bottle of Hogs Back TEA or Tilford Brewery seasonal ale to help ease you into your night of relaxation and restful sleep.

Upon waking from your restful sleep, enjoy a terrific spread of fresh and indulgent continental breakfast options mid-week and a mouth-watering hearty full English breakfast on weekends, using fresh and locally sourced, quality ingredients.

The Stag forms part of the award-winning Red Mist Leisure family, which is a local pub company that is deeply passionate about pubs and bringing the ‘village pub’ back to our communities.  They care about their customers and take great pride in providing a source of enjoyment in the food, drink and relaxing ambience they provide.

The importance of sourcing fresh and seasonal ingredients from our homeland and building strong relationships with farms and local producers is at the heart of their values, so you will always find a great selection of food choices across their seasonal a la carte menus and daily specials. They only use sustainable ingredients and care greatly to ensure the journey of your dish from field to fork is kept as short as possible.

Well located for the University of Surrey, Surrey Sports Park, Loseley Park, Watts Gallery and a terrific portfolio of family friendly attractions; there is tons to do in the surrounding area for those looking for an action-packed stay, perfect for a half term getaway in Surrey with the kids. Located in the stunning Surrey Hills, just 100 metres from the A3, The Stag is the perfect location for business trips, family breaks or weekend getaways. Complimentary car parking provided.

Ben and his team look forward to meeting you and ensuring your visit, whether for an hour or a weekend is terrific, from start to finish.
