With its excellent road and rail links and proximity to Heathrow and Gatwick airports, Guildford and Surrey are easily accessible however you choose to travel. Although London is less than 30 miles away and approximately 40 minutes by train, the historic town of Guildford is surrounded by rolling countryside and many venues in the guide are in peaceful rural areas.
The beautiful countryside and picturesque villages were the setting for the London 2012 Olympic Road Cycle Races and the Tour of Britain final leg in September 2012. Many countries chose Surrey for their pre-games training camps, so what better place to hold your own team building events.

Making the Most of Your Stay
Surrey, with its county town Guildford and many rural towns and villages, offers a wealth of activities to package around your event. First class entertainment, excellent shopping, rich heritage and cultural experiences are plentiful to enhance and enrich your stay. You can even explore the surrounding countryside in the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty for walks or cycle rides, stunning views, pub lunches and afternoon teas.
The Tourist Information Centre can help you, by providing copies of the Visit Guildford Destination Guide which lists all attractions, accommodation and places to eat as well as useful maps and transport information. The Team at the Tourist Office will be happy to assist you to organise a full itinerary, giving you details of entertainment and events which coincide with your visit, perhaps taking in guided tours of Guildford with the Town Guides. Although just half an hour away from the capital, Guildford retains its individual identity thanks to its rural setting in the North Downs. This means you can choose between town centre venues or opt for a more tranquil setting in one of our more rural locations in the beautiful Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Road: M25 Motorway (9 miles). The A3 links Guildford to the M25 (Junction 10) Victoria Coach Station (40 miles). Public Transport: Rail link via Clapham Junction to Victoria Train Station and short walk. Direct coach from Guildford (close to Surrey Sports Park).
Rail: London Waterloo (41 miles) Public Transport: direct rail link. Guildford is on the man London Waterloo to Portsmouth line with fast trains leaving London for Guildford every thirty minutes.
Air: Heathrow Airport - Terminal 4 (25 miles). Public Transport : Rail and Bus link via Woking. Gatwick Airport: (35 miles) Public Transport direct rail link
Sea: Ferry crossings from Portsmouth (45 miles). Public Transport: Direct rail link. There are ferry crossings to Cherbourg, Caen, Le Havre, St Malo and Bilbao leaving from Portsmouth.
