Community Wellbeing Team
Aspire is here because we believe every person matters - this underpins all we do. The Community Wellbeing Team form Aspire and are made up of Community Wardens who are committed, with our partners, to improving the lives of our residents.

Aspire is working with our diverse range of communities to strengthen the community fabric that makes Guildford a place where everyone is truly valued. We are focusing our efforts on our less advantaged communities and will continue to promote partnership solutions involving not only statutory agencies but most importantly the people who live here.

We will support communities to develop local solutions to local issues. Find out about our Community Grants Scheme which offers funding for community projects and initiative to benefit residents in our borough.

We are determined to play our part in improving the health and well-being of our residents and to reduce social inequality. Aspire is about providing leadership, encouragement and support to all communities to build upon the talents and energy we see every day to build true communities where neighbours can rely on one another.

We seek to empower all our communities to take an active role in the decision that affect their lives. 

Your Neighbourhood Connector

Neighbourhood Connecter Officer
The Neighbourhood Connector works with members of our community, aged over 18 who need some additional help and support, by signposting them to suitable services. 

The criteria for referral is broad and the Neighbourhood Connector aims to support those who are socially isolated or feeling lonely, struggling with mental health, wanting to improve their physical health, wanting to get back into employment and managing finances. 

The Neighbourhood Connector works on a referral basis from health professionals and also people who self refer. Anyone can contact the service if they believe it will be beneficial to them.

During the time working with an individual, the Neighbourhood Connector will work collaboratively with other services to improve overall wellbeing. Action points will be decided and small steps taken to focus on what to achieve.

Resident Involvement Officer
The Resident Involvement Officer helps tenants and leaseholders to engage better with the council and help improve the area where you live.

The Resident Involvement Officer offers a number of ways for residents to engage with us and give feedback on our services.

Where to find us

The Community Wardens have two offices based in the local community where you can drop in and see them on week days.

The Ash Office

Japonica Court, Shawfield Road, Ash GU12 6QU.
Access to this office is via the side entrance on Shawfield Road. There is a small car park. 

The North Guildford Office

Park Barn Centre, Park Barn Drive, Guildford GU2 8EN.
Access to this office is through the main door and then just ask reception to be directed to their office up the stairs. 

Help and advice

We work with many organisations and services to best help and advise the communities we support. Through our relationships with other services, from mental health to debt relief, we are able to help you find the best support and help possible, whatever it is you are experiencing.
