From 5pm on Tuesday 11 February until Sunday 16 February you will not be able to access your council tax, benefits or business rates account online. This is whilst we prepare annual bills. We apologise for any inconvenience.

West Horsley community governance review

What are we consulting on?

We are consulting the public on whether to:

  • increase the number of parish councillors elected from nine to eleven

West Horsley parish should continue to be unwarded, i.e. no change be made, even if the review is successful. This means each parish councillor will not be elected by voters living in a particular area (ward). 

If approved, the change will come into effect in the next scheduled parish council elections in May 2023. 

Why has this request been made?

The reason for the increase in the number of parish councillors is:

  • to reduce the workload on individual parish councillors
  • to address the increase in population
  • to improve diversity on the parish council
