Essential maintenance to our planning services

There will be disruption to our planning services from Thursday 17 July to Friday 18 July. This is whilst we carry out some essential maintenance. You will not be unable to search or comment on a planning application during this time. We apologise for any inconvenience. 

Bedford Road Surface car park is temporarily closed

Bedford Road surface car park

Bedford Road Surface car park is temporarily closed. This is because heavy rain over the past few weeks has damaged the car park surface. 

As a result, we've had to:

  • temporarily close the car park
  • prevent access to the Bedford Sheds garages and contractor car park beyond

We're working with our engineering contractor to fix this. We hope to have a temporary fix in place by the end of next week. More resurfacing works are planned for early in 2024-25. This will provide a more permanent solution.

In the meantime, we're encouraging people to use the other parking facilities in the area. This includes the following car parks, which remain fully operational:

  • Bedford Road multi-storey
  • Farnham Road multi-storey
  • Mary Road

We're sorry for any inconvenience that this may cause. We're working as hard as we can to re-open Bedford Road Surface car park as quickly as possible.
