Guildford On-street parking review

Together with Surrey County Council, we are introducing new on-street parking controls in the Town Centre Controlled Parking Zone, Town and Parish areas.

November 2021

The time period for permit-only parking in Zones A, B and D is being extended to seven days a week, 8.30am to 9pm each day, from Monday 1 November. Zone C is not changing.

These changes will allow us to prioritise parking for residents during peak times. A new flat rate in our High Street pay and display bays means visitors will be able to park for £1 after 6pm.

These changes were advertised in September 2019 and agreed at the July 2020 meeting of the Guildford Joint Committee, a collaboration between Guildford Borough and Surrey County Councillors.

These changes formed part of the 2019-2020 Parking Review which were advertised in September 2019. Following a public consultation it was decided that the following proposals be implemented in their entirety.

The following restrictions come into effect on 1 November 2021.

In addition to these proposals, restrictions at the following locations were advertised in June 2021.

The documents below show the restrictions which will come into effect on Tuesday 2 November 2021. This includes the introduction of pay-by-phone technology to on-street parking locations through the RingGo smartphone app.
