Season tickets

Season ticket parking operates in three of our town centre car parks: Farnham Road, York Road and Bedford Road multi-storey. There currently is no availability at Bedford Road due to a waiting list.

Farnham Road and York Road are pay-on-foot car parks. As a season ticket holder you will have a card to use when exiting the car park.

Bedford Road is a pay and display car park. As a season ticket holder, you will have a permit to display in your car.

You will choose your own space in each car park.

If you would like to apply for a season ticket or join a waiting list, contact customer services. (opens new window)

In your email, you will need to include:

  • the number of season tickets you would like
  • the car park you would like
  • your name, address, email address and daytime telephone number

Payment

If we approve your application, we will give you instructions on how to pay. The season tickets year runs from 1 April to 31 March. We will pro rata the cost of your ticket if it starts part way through the year.

Cancellation

To cancel your season ticket, you must contact our customer services  (opens new window) giving one month's notice. Notice begins from the date we receive your email.

Pre-payment cards

Pre-payment cards are an alternative to contract parking and season tickets in the town centre.

You can use your pre-payment card at the following car parks:

  • Castle car park
  • Farnham Road car park
  • Tunsgate car park
  • York Road car park

Card discount

Pre-payment cards offer a 10% discount on fees at the listed car parks.

How to apply

Contact our customer services team on 01483 505050 to request an application form or to send your contact us using our online support form (opens new window).

When your card is ready to collect, we will ask you to add £100 of credit to your card. You can pay with a credit or debit card but not American Express.

When you have used your credit, you can add more using the pay machines in any of the pay-on-foot car parks.

The amount of credit you can buy ranges from £20 to £250.

Restrictions

Pre-payment cards are not valid for:

  • on-street parking bays
  • pay and display car parks
  • contract car parks.
  • car parks operated by other organisations

Contract parking

With contract parking, you will receive a permit for an allocated space.

Contract parking is available at the following car parks:

  • Bedford Road
  • Castle Square
  • Commercial Road
  • Eagle Road
  • Millmead Court
  • Portsmouth Road
  • Robin Hood
  • St Josephs
  • Stoke Road
  • Stoke Fields

Your permit must be visible in the vehicle at all times during your stay.

RingGo 'phone and pay' parking

RingGo provides a quick and easy way to pay for your parking.

Once registered with RingGo, you can pay online or over the phone with a credit or debit card.

You don't have to worry about displaying a ticket in your car. Our enforcement officers can see on their handheld units that you have paid using RingGo. If you want to extend your parking, RingGo lets you do it remotely.

How to use RingGo

You will need to register with RingGo before you can pay. You can do this by downloading their app onto your mobile phone or by visiting the RingGo website (opens new window).

When you register, you will need to provide:

  • the number plate, colour and make of your vehicle
  • your payment card details

With RingGo, you can pay in advance or pay on arrival. When making your payment, you will need to know the location code of the carpark. You can find the car park location code on the RingGo website or app. You can also find it displayed on or around the pay machine in the car park.

There are several ways to pay for your parking with RingGo:

  • by smartphone app
  • by calling the phone service
  • by text message
  • via the internet

RingGo links your car and payment details with your mobile phone number. So if you pay by phone you will only have to provide:

  • the car park location code
  • the duration of your intended stay
  • your payment card 3-digit security code

How much does RingGo cost?

There is no charge for registering with RingGo or for the using RingGo app.

When you park in one of our car parks, RingGo will add a small charge on top of the normal parking fee.

If paying by phone, RingGo calls are charged at the standard geographical rate.

You will be charged extra fees when using their text messaging services.
