EXTRA news panel

Representatives from Guildford Borough Council, Waverley Borough Council and Surrey Police met on Tuesday with members of the local Jewish community, and faith leaders from across the religious spectrum, to hear their experiences and share reflections following recent acts of antisemitic hate crime across the country.

At its first meeting Councillor Paul Follows was agreed as Leader of West Surrey Shadow Council.

We're supporting Great Big Green Week 2026. It's the UK's largest celebration of community action to help tackle climate change and protect nature.

Alongside partners, we've submitted a bid for Guildford to become the UK's first ever Town of Culture 2028. Shortlisting results are expected before the Summer 2026.
