We partner with Guildford High School to bring festive cheer to local families

The Hive Christmas present scheme with Guildford High School

Christmas presents delivered to The Hive 2025

A total of 400 Christmas gifts have been distributed to families across the borough, thanks to our Community Wellbeing Team and the generosity of students at Guildford High School.

Cllr Carla Morson, Lead Councillor for Community, says:

"We are truly grateful for the generosity of Guildford High School students. Their support helps us bring happiness to families who need it most at Christmas. Since 2020, their donations have enabled us to share more than 2,100 gifts, showing the power of community spirit and the difference kindness can make. We hope to continue spreading this festive cheer in years to come."

The presents were distributed to families already supported by our Community Wellbeing Team or referred by home link workers and partner organisations.

Jenni Hall, Director of Partnerships at Guildford High School, adds:

"It's wonderful to join forces once again with the Community Wellbeing Team and strengthen our ongoing relationship with them. Supporting this initiative has become part of Christmas at Guildford High School reflecting our commitment to be active members of our local community, supporting our students to become responsible citizens, and hopefully making a meaningful difference for local families at this special time of year."

Our Community Wellbeing Team works to build a more inclusive borough by supporting local people, groups and community organisations. Services at our community hub, The Hive on Park Barn Drive, include:

  • activities and events for all ages
  • wellbeing services and support groups
  • a community fridge and pantry
  • PlayZone - a soft play area alongside The Honeypot CafĂ©
  • Thrive at The Hive - a space to access donated essential items such as clothing, homeware, and children's toys on a pay-as-you-feel basis.

The Hive is also home to our Community Meals and Community Transport services.
