Bin collections

From Monday 6 July, our bin crews will be starting collections earlier. Please make sure your bins are out the night before, as collections will take place from 5.30am. Thank you for helping our crews work safely during the hot weather.

Celebrating Rural Housing Week in Guildford

Rural housing

Earlier this year, we worked alongside Mole Valley District Council, Waverley Borough Council and Surrey Community Action to develop the Surrey Rural Housing Statement. This sets out a shared commitment to improving access to affordable homes, strengthening partnerships and supporting Surrey's villages to remain vibrant places to live and work.

A key part of this work is our partnership with Surrey Community Action. Their dedicated Rural Housing Enabler works across the borough to understand local housing need, engage with parish councils and residents, and support the delivery of affordable homes for local people. As an independent organisation, Surrey Community Action plays an important role in ensuring community views are heard throughout the process.

As we celebrate Rural Housing Week, we recognise the important contribution of our parish councils, housing association partners and Surrey Community Action in helping to meet local housing needs and secure a sustainable future for Guildford's rural communities.
