Due to high levels of service requests and applications, our phone lines are much busier than usual. The quickest and easiest way to access our services is by registering for an account at MyGuildford or visiting our self service pages. You can report an issue, make requests and track progress, pay your bills and apply for key services at any time.

About Guildford Community Transport

We provide a variety of services to residents, such as Dial-a-Ride, Door to Store, social trips and transport to social centres for older people.

Is Community Transport right for you?

Our Community Transport services help those who can't easily use public transport, including those who are:

  • over 60 years of age
  • of any age but have a physical disability or mobility problem
  • of any age but are suffering short or long term ill health
  • of any age but have learning difficulties
  • of any age but have mental health issues

We use a fleet of fully accessible vehicles to enable all passengers to use the service. Anyone who wants to use the service must first register and all journeys need to be pre-booked.

Transport services


Dial-a-ride is a door to door service, providing transport to a range of locations, appointments and social activities in Guildford and key towns in the surrounding area. These include:

  • shopping
  • centres for older people
  • voluntary sector activities
  • social clubs
  • work
  • visiting friends and family
  • hospital and medical appointments

There is a small annual membership charge, and a charge for each trip. If you are also a member of a Council social centre, there is a reduced combined annual fee.

Door to Store

Our Door to Store service enables you to book a regular seat on a bus taking groups of people to their local supermarket. This service is available to anyone registered with Guildford Community Transport. By joining the service, you will have your weekly shopping trip guaranteed, meaning that you do not need to phone and book each week.

Transport to centres for older people

Our community transport service provides travel to Council social centres for older people. We provide transport in different ways to ensure all customers have the freedom to make their own decision as to which centre they would like to attend.

Library service

Our library service can take you to your local library on a fortnightly basis at a set time. To book a regular place on the vehicle, simply contact the Community Transport office (01483 458052). We will arrange the transport for you and you will only need to contact the office again when you do not want to travel.

Social trips

Throughout the year we produce a Social Trip Brochure offering trips to local places of interest including garden centres, pubs, museums and galleries. It is an opportunity for you to meet up with new friends or to meet new ones.

The Community Transport Team research venues to ensure they are accessible prior to putting them in the brochure.

The trips are available to all individuals registered with the service. Upon receipt of the brochure simply decide on the trips you would like to go on then phone the office on 01483 458052 to book your place.
