Warning about scam impacting car park users and operators

 We're warning drivers not to respond to a nationwide scam text about a parking fine.

We will never send you a text message to request payment for a parking fine.

Our Civil Enforcement Officers issue parking charge notices on the spot, or you may receive a fine by post.

What the scam text says

The text says a parking charge notice was issued by a local council and provides a link for online payment. It asks for immediate payment and threatens prosecution if the fine is not paid.

What to do if you receive a scam text

  • delete the message
  • don't click on any payment link
  • don't give any personal information.
