Notice of review of Polling Districts and Polling Places

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, under section 18 C of the Representation of the People Act 1983 (as amended), to the commencement of a review into polling districts and polling places for the new division arrangements that come into force for the County Council Elections to be held on Thursday 1 May 2025.

Guildford Borough Council is reviewing all the polling districts and places used at elections to take account of these new division boundaries. Proposals for new voting arrangements, and the Guildford Returning Officer's commentsare now available.

The Returning Officers for the Godalming & Ash Constituency and the Surrey Heath Constituency may also comment on the proposals that relate Guildford Borough polling districts and places that are in that parliamentary constituency. All representations will be published on the council's website and will be available for inspection at Guildford Borough Council, Millmead House, Millmead, Guildford, Surrey GU2 4BB between the hours 08:45 - 16:45 Monday - Thursday and 08:45 - 16:00 on Fridays.

The council welcomes representations and views from any interested party that wishes to comment on any aspect of the polling districts and/or polling places and/or polling stations currently used. Comments are also welcomed from any interested person registered as an elector within the council area or within a UK parliamentary constituency which has any part within the council area.

Anyone commenting on the suitability a polling place should, if possible, give alternative venues that may be used as polling places if they feel the current ones are unsuitable.

The council welcomes representations from any person or body with expertise in access for people with any type of disability. Similarly, representations from residents with disabilities would be particularly welcomed.

Please note that all proposals and comments received must be published and available to view on the council's website at the conclusion of the review.
