The report showcases how the Council is responding to areas that matter most to tenants, including repairs, damp and mould, communication, and complaint handling.

Key highlights include:

  • A refreshed Housing Improvement Plan shaped by tenants and councillors
  • A dedicated team tackling damp and mould, with faster inspection times
  • How the Tenant Engagement Group and Housing Operations Board give residents a stronger voice

Councillor Julia McShane, Leader of the Council and Lead Cllr for Housing, said:

"This report reflects our ongoing commitment to transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement. We're working hand in hand with tenants to build a housing service that's safer, more responsive, and truly meets their needs. We recognise the challenges our residents face and are fully committed to responding with empathy, urgency, and care. While we're proud of the progress we've made, we know there's still more to do. We're listening closely to residents' feedback and are already making meaningful changes. This report is part of being honest about where we are now - and where we're determined to go together.
