The Mayor of Guildford has announced that nominations are open for The Mayor's Award for Service to the Community 2026.

This award recognises people and organisations that have gone above and beyond to serve the community and who have made a significant difference to the lives of residents in Guildford Borough.

Anyone can nominate an individual or an organisation that has done outstanding work in the community, improving the lives of others or fostering good relationships. Each nomination needs at least two letters of support.

People have until 5pm on Monday 9 February 2026 to submit a nomination.

Ways to nominate individuals and organisations for an award

The Mayor of Guildford, Cllr Howard Smith, says:
"We want to recognise the amazing contribution made by individuals and groups across our borough. If you know someone who goes above and beyond to help their community, or a group that makes a positive difference to local people, tell us about them.

"Your nomination could help us celebrate their achievements and inspire others to get involved in their local community."

The Mayor is grateful that the County Club is kindly sponsoring the 2026 awards.

Julian Bounds, General Manager of the County Club adds:
"Guildford epitomises the sense of 'community' and The County Club is immensely proud to sponsor the best of what our wonderful community has to offer."

The Hear Here Project won an award in 2025.

Martyna Zabka Mustafa, Community Lead at Hear Here Project said:
"Receiving the Mayor's Award for Service to the Community is a real honour for Hear Here Clinics. We're proud to support people with hearing impairment across the borough and grateful to the Mayor and local community for recognising the importance of accessible hearing aid maintenance services. This award encourages us to continue developing and expanding our support in the years ahead."

Successful nominees will be invited to attend the awards event in March 2026.
