Chantry Wood Campsite
The Chantry Wood campsite is situated on the North Downs within Chantry Wood, just three miles from the ancient town of Guildford with its Castle Keep, famous high street, parks and gardens.

The site is bordered on three sides by woodland and hedgerows. The southern perimeter is open, permitting extensive and beautiful views over Albury Vale and Chilworth Village to Blackheath and, in clear weather, to the South Downs beyond.

Chantry Wood Bluebells
The campsite is approached by a gently winding forest track, just one of many, by which 190 acres of Chantry Wood may be explored.

The numerous species of trees include English oak, beech, ash and American redwoods, as well as evergreen spruce, cypress and fir. The woods are managed to encourage bird and insect life to flourish.

We consulted with local people on the future options for Chantry Wood campsite and listened to their feedback on the proposals. Their views helped inform the way forward and the Council's Executive agreed on 7 March 2019 that Chantry Wood campsite will remain open for use by the public.

Piped water is available on site, as are brick cubicles for chemical toilets. Chilly evenings may be passed pleasantly around the designated fire sites.

Shops, supermarkets, post office and telephone are to be found close by in Guildford town.

The Chantry Wood camp site is open all year round.

Youth groups must be supervised at all times by responsible adults. Arrival should be between 12pm and 5pm and departure by 11:30am.
