Lakeside Nature Reserve

A peaceful 15 hectare nature reserve with large lake and an abundance of wildlife and wildflowers.

Visiting Lakeside Nature Reserve

Lakeside Nature Reserve has a range of habitats ideal for nature seekers. The main lake is home to a variety of fish and water birds. Shaded woodland is where bats thrive. The miniature grass meadow supports colourful butterflies and orchids.

Conservation works

  • we keep the footpaths and fishing platforms free from overgrowing vegetation
  • we cut the meadow once a year
  • we work with Blackwater Valley Countryside Partnership during the winter to prevent willow spread into the reed beds

Parking

Lakeside Nature Reserve car park is along Lakeside Road.
