Sheltered housing

Japonica Court

Japonica Court sheltered housing is owned by Guildford Borough Council and provides accommodation for older people over the age of 60.

Location

The court is in the village of Ash, approximately two miles from Aldershot and 10 miles from Guildford.

There is a bus stop opposite the court with a regular service into Aldershot.

Ash railway station is a ten-minute car journey.

Accommodation

The three storey, centrally-heated building has 48 one-bedroom flats and 13 two-bedroom flats.

Each flat is self-contained with a bathroom and kitchen.

Facilities

  • well-equipped laundry room with washing machines and tumble dryers
  • three lifts
  • hairdressing salon open twice a week by appointment only
  • one communal shower rooms for those unable to use a bath

Social activities provided by the Social club:

  • coffee mornings
  • bingo
  • occasional evening activities run by tenants

Support services

A Guildford Borough Council support officer is usually available:

  • Monday to Thursday, 8.30am to 5pm and;
  • Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm (excluding bank holidays)
