Playrangers is an exciting project which encourages children to play freely outdoors. All children are welcome to join the free sessions that are held after school in five locations around Guildford (under-8s must be accompanied by an adult).
The Playrangers are qualified and experienced play workers who run play sessions based on using the natural environment as well as child-led play.
Playranger sessions run every weekday during term-time and now also every Saturday morning too. They are a great way for children and young people to get outside, be active and make new friends. Sessions are aimed at 5 to 12 year olds, however under-8s are welcome if accompanied by an adult.
From Saturday 6 May, Playrangers are running a new weekly Saturday morning session at ATC Pirbright, Beech Grove Playground, Pirbright GU24 0PU.
The Saturday morning sessions will be funded by the Armed Forces Community Covenant. The sessions are open to all children, from service or civilian families. Playranger sessions are held in parks and open spaces on different days of the week:
Monday: Pirbright Village Green, GU24 0JE
Tuesday: Coronation Gardens, Ash, GU12 5DN
Wednesday: Park Barn Drive, Guildford GU2 6EU
Thursday: Bellfields Green, Bellfields, GU1 1JT
Friday: Hornhatch Green, Chilworth, GU4 8AX
Saturday: Beech Grove Playground. Brookwood, GU24 0PU *new*

Information for parents and carers
The Playranger Project is an open access service which means children are free to come and go as they please. This is not a childcare service. Children under 8 will be able to take part but must have parental supervision throughout the session. Please read ourfor more information. All parents with children will be welcome to join in at sessions.
Children will need to wear something appropriate to the weather and expect to get dirty. Playing outside is fun and messy and is likely to lead to grass, mud and all sorts coming home on children's clothing.
Playrangers believe that children can play in all weathers as long as they have appropriate clothing and will deliver sessions in all weathers adapting their activity to ensure the children have fun. Please do not forget sun hats, sun cream and plenty of drinks for your children during the warm weather and gloves, scarves and hats during cold winter evenings.
We require all parents to complete aon their first visit to a session. Following initial registration, each child will be asked to provide the Playrangers with their name and age only for the register for each session.
All parents and carers with children attending will be requested provide contact and emergency details.
The Playrangers' free summer camping trip, which takes place at The Chantry Woods campsite, is on 7 to 8 July.
