Christmas Service of Remembrance at Guildford Crematorium

The special service offers time and space for people to remember loved ones during the festive season. This community event brings comfort and reflection at a meaningful time of year.
It will include carols, readings and prayers from local celebrants and faith leaders. There will also be the opportunity to light a remembrance candle in memory of someone special.
The service is all faith and non-faith and children are welcome.
How to book
Tickets are free of charge. There are still spaces available, so please book to make sure you can join in this special evening. To reserve your place, please call the Bereavement Services team on 01483 444711.
Cllr Angela Goodwin, Lead Councillor for Environment and Recreation at Guildford Borough Council, said:
"Christmas can be a difficult time for people who have lost loved ones. This service provides a gentle and supportive space for them to pause, reflect and remember over the festive season.
"In previous years it's been an important and much welcomed community event. I hope people will take the opportunity to join in this year's service."
If you can't attend
For those unable to attend the service in person, there is still an opportunity to take part. You can write a message of remembrance for someone special and have it placed on the memorial Christmas tree at the Crematorium.
Messages can be added in the following ways:
- Visit the Crematorium and place the message on the tree yourself
- Send your message to our Bereavement Services team, who will ensure it's added on your behalf
