Friday 24 March to Sunday 2 April 2017

 

Friday 24 March

9am          The Mayor, Councillor Gordon Jackson, accompanied by the Mayoress, Mrs Sue Jackson, attends the Official Opening by Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal of the BBSRC National Vaccinology Centre: The Jenner Building at the Pirbright Institute, Pirbright.

11.45am   The Mayor makes a short visit to the University of Surrey, Guildford, to view two e20 electric cars as part of the University's Climate Week programme.

3pm          The Mayor makes an informal visit to the Surrey Scorchers 24-hour Basketball event at Surrey Sports Park, Guildford.

7.30pm     The Mayor, accompanied by the Mayoress, Mrs Sue Jackson, hosts a 'Thank You'Dinner at the Guildhall, Guildford, for those who have supported him during his Mayoral year.

9pm          The Mayor will make a short visit to Guildford Castle to officially launch this year's YMCA Guildford Sleepeasy 2017.

9.30pm     The Mayor re-joins his guests at the Guildhall.

 

Saturday 25 March

12.45pm    The Mayor, accompanied by Mr Tim Jackson, attends the Harlequins vs Newcastle Falcons Rugby Match at the Stoop, Twickenham.

6.30pm      Former Mayor, Councillor Nikki Nelson-Smith, accompanied by Ms Melanie Bright, attends a Reception and Concert by the University of Surrey's Choir & Orchestra at Holy Trinity Church, Guildford.

 

Sunday 26 March

6.30pm      The Mayor, accompanied by the Mayoress, Mrs Sue Jackson, attends the Guildford Symphony Orchestra Spring Classic Concert at Charterhouse Hall, Godalming.

 

Monday 27 March

11.50am     The Mayor, accompanied by the Mayoress, Mrs Sue Jackson, attends the opening of the Tillingbourne Gallery at Shere Museum.

7.15pm       The Mayor and Mayoress, attend the President of the Rotary Club of Guildford's Film Night, '70 Years at the BBC', at the Guildhall, Guildford.

 

Tuesday 28 March

6.30pm      The Mayor, accompanied by the Mayoress, Mrs Sue Jackson, joins the Mayors and Chairmen of Surrey for a Reception to Celebrate the Surrey Club's for Young People National Pool & Boxing Champions and Volunteer Awards at County Hall, Kingston-upon-Thames; by invitation of the Chairman of Surrey County Council, Councillor Sally Marks.

 

Wednesday 29 March

4.45pm      The Mayor, accompanied by the Mayoress, Mrs Sue Jackson, attends the Surrey University Students' Union and the Royal Holloway Varisty 2017 at the Surrey Sports Park, Guildford.

5pm           The Deputy Mayor, Councillor Nigel Manning, accompanied by the Deputy Mayoress, Councillor Marsha Moseley, attends the Surrey Heritage Awards 2017 Ceremony at Loseley Park, Loseley.

 

Thursday 30 March

11.30am     The Mayor, accompanied by the Mayoress, Mrs Sue Jackson, attends the instalment of the traditional old clock at Clockhouse Assisted Living, London Road, Guildford

2pm            The Mayor, accompanied by the Mayoress, visits HMP Send for a tour of the facilities and to be shown what opportunities are available to the prisoners to aid their rehabilitation back into society.

6.30pm       The Mayor and Mayoress attend the Guildford-Freiburg Association Dinner at the Park Room Restaurant at Guildford College.

 

Saturday 1 April

1.30pm        The Mayor, accompanied by the Mayoress, Mrs Sue Jackson, hosts 'The Mayor's Daffodil Tea' at the Park Barn Centre, Guildford. Proceeds from this event will go to the Mayor's chosen charities, The Surrey Hills Trust Fund, Surrey Cancer Research Institute and The Mayor of Guildford's Local Distress Fund.

 

Sunday 2 April

6pm             The Mayor, accompanied by the Mayoress, Mrs Sue Jackson, attends Cherry Trees' 'Light it Blue' event in aid of World Autism Awareness Day at Guildford Castle.
