Guildford Borough Council offers residents a comprehensive subsidised pest control service for domestic premises to control infestations of rats, mice, fleas, wasps and other pests in the borough. The contract is operated through SDK Environmental Ltd.
Pests we can treat:
- Bed bugs
- Cluster flies
Pests we cannot treat:
- Textile pests (such as carpet beetles and clothes moths)

Insect prices are based on a two bedroom house. There is an additional charge of £25 for each extra room treated.
Make sure when booking for a wasp treatment that you specify the correct pest. If on arrival a pre-booked wasp treatment is identified as bees, which are a protected species, we will not be able to carry out the treatment and no refunds will be given.
Any wasp's nest located more than sixteen feet (4.87m) up may be difficult to treat.
A wasp nest that is found to be higher than our equipment can reach (roughly 16ft) may require an additional charge or may result in the treatment not being possible.
Please note: some fees for private treatments are reduced for residents who receive certain means-tested benefits, but you must check eligibility with SDK before booking.
Payment for treatments is normally collected by debit or credit card once your booking has been confirmed
You have the right to cancel and obtain a full refund at any time up and until the treatment commences
You must accept our contractor's treatment terms and conditions before any work can take place.
Qualifying benefits for concessionary rates are as follows:
- Income support
- Disabled persons tax credit
- Council tax benefit
- Housing benefit
- State retirement pension
You be will required to show proof of benefit and a utility bill to confirm your address to the Pest Technician when they call round.
Pest control contractors
Our pest control contractors, SDK, are fully trained and operate under strict safety controls. They have modern, fully-equipped vehicles and safety equipment so that they can operate efficiently and effectively.
